Frequently asked

Questions Patients Ask First

Why does ApoB matter if my LDL-C is normal?
ApoB counts the number of atherogenic particles rather than the cholesterol they carry, and it can remain elevated when LDL-C looks acceptable.
Should I have my Lp(a) measured?
Lp(a) is largely genetically determined and typically measured once. It can meaningfully change how aggressively other risk factors are treated.
What does a coronary calcium score tell me?
It quantifies calcified atherosclerosis already present, which helps convert an estimated risk into a more individualized one.
Can chest pain occur without blocked arteries?
Yes. INOCA and ANOCA describe ischemia or angina without obstructive coronary disease and require a specific diagnostic approach.

Educational content only. It is not a substitute for individualized medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
